When doing a layover your existing shingles by code we need a backerboard installed before vinyl siding can be applied. We use the industries best for backerboard. A 3/8" breathable insulation helps provided our installers with a level surface and also add some extra R-value to your home.
Don't let rot stop you have for having the perfect house! We always change out any rotted areas on the house.
Removing the existing siding down to the wall sheathing it is extremely important to replace the house wrap with a new moisture barrier. My vinyl siding experts make sure every window is flashed and every seam is taped off creating a watertight house.
